For example, it was the Master Game that changed the platoon factors. What REALLY changed, however, wasn't BBW. Still, the majority of the game was the same. The real change is when it migrated over to BBW from DOS. As more and more changes occurred, the further away it went. So, while the first version may have been the closest, it wasn't necessarily the best. When the next version of the game was created, those errors were corrected, but the game also drifted a little further away from the Master Game. Obviously, there were a few glitches (small errors) that existed and were found over the first year. In answer to your other question, the original version of the DOS game was the closest to the Master Game. I would highly recommend working with Steven (if he still does this) and have him create your own personal manager for you. Many people have paid big bucks to try and purchase the program, only to become frustrated with it. No, it's extremely frustrating.Įven I actually PAID Steven to tweak my manager because I didn't want to spend all day trying to figure out what was going on with a specific strategy that didn't want to work properly.

Often you need to either combine other strategies into one, in order to clear out space for a new strategy that you might want just to create. You can literally spend hours trying to figure out your error. The program is a little persnickety, and unless things are entered 'just right', then it won't work. Steven is the ONLY one that I know who actually has the patience to do this.

I have attempted, many times, to do a new one from scratch, and I give up ever time. It takes WAY too much time to ever attempt to create a manager from scratch, so almost every manager ever created originated from Blackie Dugan. It is WAY over the head of the common game player. That being said, it's also almost impossible to use. Aside for the memory limitations, it is probably the best piece of software that Miller Associates ever created. I "worked" for Miller Associates at the time, and Kenneth Miller and I created those over a Memorial Day weekend years ago. The strategies found in the early managers such as Blackie Dugan were all my designs. I actually "created" the very first MicroManager for Miller Associates. He covered all of the bases, and is THE EXPERT on this topic.

I'd like to add just a little something to Steven's most excellent explanation.
